chewy chocolate peanut butter cookies

Don't freak out, you're on the right page!
I just did a little bit of redesign this weekend...

I also did some baking. Husband has been complaining that I never bake
anything for him anymore (which is completely UNtrue, as he samples
everything that comes out of the kitchen.)
But a good marriage means having to compromise sometimes,
so I decided to make something I knew he would love
using two of his favorite things: chocolate and peanut butter.

I started with a bag of Reeses' Peanut Butter Chips. They have their own recipe.

Here is mine (which, in my somewhat biased opinion, is better):
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 whole eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups peanut butter chips
(or one 10oz package, less whatever your husband steals to snack on)

Cream the butter and sugars, then add in in the eggs and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, combine your dry ingredients.

Slowly add the dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture,
then stir in the peanut butter chips.

Drop the dough by rounded tablespoon onto an ungreased baking sheet.
Try to keep your Husband from stealing the dough before
it makes it to the oven... I was not successful.

Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes.
You want them to be done, but still chewy.

Chocolatey dough, peanut butter chips, chewy texture...
these are really really good. (Husband agrees!)

Here's to chocolate, peanut butter, and marital bliss.

  2. I really just LOVE your blog... and these look awesome! I definitely want to make them soon.

And my husband complains of exactly the same thing... only in our case he's kinda right (but in my defense, we're trying to diet and the cakes are usually for other people's birthdays or wedding showers so I can't exactly let him stick his finger in the icing!)
